The Canvas Collective is a bold new community initiative designed to combat loneliness and social isolation through the healing power of art. In partnership with art therapist Kaley Wajcman, and local artist Justin Border, this pilot program offers free Community Workshops for Creatives—safe, welcoming spaces where individuals come together to express themselves, exchange ideas, and build lasting connections through collaborative art-making. With thoughtfully curated materials and expert guidance from our art therapist team, participants are empowered to create original works while strengthening community bonds and personal well-being.
The 2026 Canvas Collective is presented in partnership with Johnson County Aging and Human Services. The workshops will be in Olathe at the Sunset Building. Registration is free. Workshops will be held on May 4, May 20, June 4, June 12th, 1:30 – 4:30 pm.
