New Opportunity for Shooting Stars Finalists

Very few opportunities exist for our creative youth to be scouted in the same way student athletes are.  Most creative students seeking scholarship opportunities rely on lengthy applications, interviews, auditions, and portfolio submissions.  During this busy stage of life, these efforts, although rewarding, can be taxing.  To lighten the load, we hope to provide additional opportunities to showcase our Finalists’ incredible talents to colleges and universities.

We are excited to announce that this year we are implementing an additional scholarship opportunity!  We have created intentional partnerships with colleges and universities both within and outside of the KC Metro area.  Students that opt in will be considered for preliminary scholarship opportunities by these colleges and universities.

How does this work?

This process couldn’t be simpler for students!  After students are nominated, they will have a period of time to complete their interest form.  This year, unlike previous years, we ask that students share their GPA and SAT scores.  This is completely optional, however, if students choose to participate, we will then share this data with the partnered colleges and universities, who may choose to award scholarship offers to students matching their criteria.

**Note that each university partner makes scholarship selections based on their own specific parameters.  This means that not every student is guaranteed a scholarship, but it also means that there is no maximum number of scholarships a student may receive.  For example, if there are 23 participating universities, a student may receive up to 23 scholarships.  Student who opt in will be notified of scholarship awards at their Orientation session.
