{"id":773,"date":"2011-11-30T22:02:56","date_gmt":"2011-11-30T22:02:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.carolinebraley.com\/acjc\/?page_id=773"},"modified":"2025-02-20T22:18:08","modified_gmt":"2025-02-20T22:18:08","slug":"funding-training","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/artsjoco.org\/acjc\/funding-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Arts Organization Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Mural Artist Credit: Donald &#8220;Scribe&#8221; Ross.&nbsp; 2019\/InterUrban ArtHouse<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color\">Local and National Resources to Support Arts Organizations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alt-cap.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>AltCap<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; AltCap exists to increase the flow of capital to communities and businesses not adequately served by mainstream financial institutions.&nbsp; Whether it is through the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Program, small business and microloans, or other alternative capital, AltCap is committed to delivering accessible financing to support job-creating small business investments and catalytic, community-focused real estate development projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.americansforthearts.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Americans for the Arts<\/strong><\/a> serves, advances, and leads the network of organizations and individuals who cultivate, promote, sustain, and support the arts in America. AftA provides training, workshops, research and advocacy support for artists and arts organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artplaceamerica.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>ArtPlace<\/strong><\/a> is a collaboration among a number of foundations, federal agencies, and financial institutions that works to position arts and culture as a core sector of comprehensive community planning and development in order to help strengthen the social, physical, and economic fabric of communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/artskc.org\/art-creator\/grants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>ArtsKC Fund Grants<\/strong><\/a>. Funding for projects, especially in today&#8217;s environment, has become harder and harder to find. The ARtsKC Fund Grants provide financial support for the Arts through two grant programs: Catalyst grants and Inspiration grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/community.afpglobal.org\/afpkc\/home\">Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Kansas City Chapter<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; has dedicated itself to serving nonprofit professionals and their organizations by offering quality programming, value-based membership, and professional relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"http:\/\/francisfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <strong>Francis Family Foundation<\/strong><\/a>. One of the priorities of the foundation is the support of arts and art culture through a Small Arts Grant Program , and more traditional Arts &amp; Culture grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.interurbanarthouse.org\/programs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>InterUrban ArtHouse<\/strong><\/a> supports artists through studio space, workshops, professional development, and networking opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kcvlaa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Kansas City Volunteer Lawyers &amp; Accountants for the Arts<\/strong><\/a>. Legal and accounting assistance to qualifying artists and arts organizations from all creative disciplines. The ArtSmarts program provides seminars in arts law to help artists avoid common pitfalls in their professional arts careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kansascommerce.gov\/program\/kcaic\/\">Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission<\/a><\/strong> is focused on the creative industries sector of the Kansas economy. The KCAIC is our state arts agency and is dedicated to measuring, promoting, supporting and expanding the creative industries to grow the state&#8217;s economy and create creative industry-related jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maaa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Mid-America Arts Alliance<\/strong><\/a>. M-AAA\u2019s programs are provided through three main focus areas: Arts and Humanities Programming, Arts and Humanities Grantmaking, and Professional Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/info.umkc.edu\/centers\/mcnl\/programs\/nonprofit-navigation-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership <\/a><\/strong>&#8211; periodically presents tools nonprofits can utilize to innovate and excel in today\u2019s environment \u2013 building the foundation for a promising future. MCNL\u2019s Navigation Series creates an interactive virtual community to learn and share the ideas nonprofits need to be successful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmkff.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation<\/strong> &#8211;<\/a> The Foundation\u2019s mission is to support organizations and programs that enhance the quality and accessibility of the arts in the greater Kansas City community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arts.gov\/grants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)<\/a> <\/b>&#8211;&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; letter-spacing: inherit;\">The National Endowment for the Arts is an independent federal agency that funds, promotes, and strengthens the creative capacity of our communities by providing all Americans with diverse opportunities for arts participation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/culturaldata.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>SMU DataArts<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; empowers arts and cultural leaders with high-quality data and evidence-based resources and insights that help them to overcome challenges and increase impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tcg.org\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Theatre Communication Group<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Through its Core Values of Activism, Artistry, Diversity, and Global Citizenship, TCG advances a better world for theatre and a better world because of theatre.
